RON @ MSY

Sat Jul 26, 2003 6:21 am

Prehaps Tom or Steve in N.O. could provide this insight, but any one who knows is welcome to rpely.

I was just curious as to what airlines had aircraft that do RON at MSY?
Also, what types and with which airlines do RON?

WN, CO, DL, and US certainly do.

I believe NW does as well.

COEX 145 comes in from CLE
UAX CRJ comes in from IAD
Delta 732 from CVG, CRJ from DFW, and ERJ's from DFW and MCO
Pace 733 from ATL

These are for RON's only....if u need any more info, don't hesitate to ask.  Smile

Mirrodie:

RON stand for 'Ramp Over-Night'. This used to refer to airliners kept at aiports overnight.

Mirrodie:

Back when I was an Airport Operations Supervisor (I've been promoted a couple of times since) at MSY, and I was working a midnight shift, I would have to create a log of the commercial aircraft that were parked at the terminal as RON's. This log would include the airline, exact type/series aircraft, tail number, and gate. Our Accounting Department used this log to assist in their assessing gate use charges to the airlines.

PS to Dsu...: I'll bow to Steve on his current RON list. Looks good to me.

Hmmm, DL has 7 mainline and 2 RJ's parked on 4 gates overnight?! I'll have to ask a current Ops buddy of mine where DL's stashes the overflow (it's kind of tight over in DL's area, especially when DL shares concourse D with CO, who has 4 mainline, and 1 RJ RON).

9 DL overnighters (6 mainline, 3 RJ)

500am to ATL (757)
530am to DFW (ERJ)
615am to ATL (M88)
700am to CVG (73S)
700am TO DFW (M90)
730am to MCO (ERJ)
745am to ATL (757)
850am to DFW (CRJ)
905am to ATL (757)

That is A LOT of heavy iron for only 4 gates, you're right Tom....

It would seem to me that the Delta Connection RJs would RON on the tarmac and use one common gate.
