I was just driving by SFO on my way home this morning, and I saw a 727-200 (with winglets) of Sunworld. Does anybody know what Sunworld is or has anyone actually been on it? Anxiously waiting to know.....

If I'm not mistaking Sunworld is an charter airline serving mostly the Caribbean.

Sam.  Big thumbs up

If I remember correctly, I saw this aircraft in ATL a couple of years ago.

They used to fly to Cancun from CMH.

CMH to Cancun? Is this a Midwest-based airline? Large fleet? Anyone have any more info on Sunworld?

Hey, I saw this aircraft just two days ago (july 25) pull into BHM to pick up a load of school kids on some charter. It looked sweet in the winglets. I had my camera but did not move fast enough and could not get a decent shot of it.

They used to do scheduled service from Philadelphia to Kansas City (and one or two other cities; midwestern I think from MCI). It did not last very long!

I didn't know they were still around.

I was spotting at CVG a couple years back in May 2001 and I saw one land and as it taxied back another took off.

yeah, they flew their 727 on a twice daily mci-ind-phl-bdl run, lasted a couple of months, mainly charters to mexico and for sports teams now though

I do like the 727 with winglets though. Nice touch for a classic old three-holer.

Sunworld International Airlines (SWI) is a charter operator, based out of CVG. They currently have a single 727-251 N828US, but I know they will get some more as they are currently hiring crews, ground instructors and staff.

The a/c is well maintained. Nice paint job and an average interior with fabric seats. The small FA's team is really friendly and despite that the passengers get on board whatever the travel agency or tour operator pays for, they always manage to have everyone happy. Pilots are well trained and are experienced.

It's a frequent Cancun visitor, especially during the very busy spring/summer and winter seasons.
