UA Nonrev Dress Code?

Tue Jul 29, 2003 8:53 am

Hi all,

Yesterday, I was nonreving on UA from Bangkok to Narita (great flight on the 777 by the way) and something struck me. The other standby or non revs seemed to be dressed for a saturday BBQ.
Since I am not a UA employee, but a son of an Air Canada employee, I was just curious what the dress code was for nonrevs?

Thanks

 Smile

Depends on which class you were in. If you were flying in Economy, then standbys can be dressed for the ´´saturday bbq´´, with jeans and tennis shoes, however in both Business and First, standby passengers must be dressed in collared shirt, slacks, dress shoes, or dressy clothes for women.

For Y class you can dress inshorts and tennis shoes so long as they are presentable and clean and in good repair. For C/F class you need to be in business casual attire. Khaki's and a Button down shirt like a golf shirt are perfectly acceptable for C/F class. At least they were when I worked for ACA when we had and temporarily still have UA flite benefits.
I Don't know where I am anymore

Shorts are ok, but not gym shorts. Most attire is common sense, and some still look like slobs. The worst I have ever seen are express employees on express flights, they don't always look like mainline employees.

Thanks for the responses

It just felt odd being dressed up, and most of the others were not. However, they were in the economy section with me.
