Site Problems

Sun Dec 19, 1999 2:07 pm

Guys,

As you noticed, Airliners.net was down for about three days this week. It's been running smoothly for quite some time and naturally something like this happens when I am abroad. Nothing wrong with the server, it was a network problem that took the site off-line. These things should not take three days to fix even if I'm not around and I am deeply sorry. Unfortunately my upstream service provider tells me the problem is not entirely solved and I am therefore unable to promise that it won't happen again. We will be switching providers in the first quarter of 2000 and once that is done I can promise a vastly improved speed and stability. Please bare with us until then.

By the way, Singapore Airlines was great and so was Singapore. Flew a A340 both from Copenhagen to Singapore and from Singapore to Manila.

Kind Regards,
Johan

Too bad you had to worry about this on your holiday. Enjoy the rest of your holiday. Don't let the Y2K bug bite.

Thank you so much! I would die if airliners.net was down for a whole month!

Johan...

I really want to take the time to thank you for going out of your way when you should be on vacation sipping a martini.

I know most people when they're on a vacation would refuse to do anything work related.

I'm really greatful that you took the time to get this running again.

Have a great rest of the vacation and a happy new year. Oh, and try not to work too hard

Johan, thanks for your email update. This was something that was out of your control and you really can't do anything you have no control over!

Glad you enjoyed your flight on the A-340. I had the pleasure of flying on her "cousin", the A-330 of Aer Lingus this past summer between Boston and Shannon. Great aircraft, great airline!

I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year!
