Surprising that Gordie isnt in that list. He has arguably done the best job in that Continental are the first of the majors back to making a little money. Tilton should not be in the crapper as you call it, as he had probably the hardest job, and has helped on moral no end, now if he can just get the finances organised then he should win the prize... but not the MattD prize.

If I was to put anyone in the crapper, it would be Seigel at US Airways. While we Continental lovers like him, he brought his company out of Chapt 11 probably too early, and they are still losing money hand over first as a result. Due to the loans they got emerging from chapt 11, they are now the richest of the majors, and the only reason that they are not in panic now.

ConcordeBoy...

IF HP's CEO is not doing a good job, how are they profitable now?

Artysman...

US actually trimmed it's operating loss immensely, and had a net profit after the government security reimbursement. You could argue it was a handout, but no other industry has such expenses for a national security issue, and without the expense, they may have been profitable anway.

Seigel has done a remarkable job getting the company to where they are today. Yes, they are still at an operating loss, but to say they are losing money hand of over fist is inaccurate.

HP's CEO is doing a good job, he has turned the airline completly around. I spent 5 years at HP just leaving in May and Doug Parker has done a wonderful job as CEO. If Franke was around still HP would not be here today.
