Swissair Livery Should Have Been This

Sun Aug 03, 2003 4:42 am

I always wondered why SR had that dull look with the Red, White and Grey combo, when they could have had a Choclate Brown belly and engines to match, it really makes the Red tail, winglets and title stand out, and the colour represented one of the most famous Swiss products as well.

Not too sure that would look too good. Maggie Thatcher might have an identical thought to what had when she saw the then new BA tails.

Are you trying to say the colour is taboo is Europe? it was part of SR's 1980's livery if you recall the cheat line, but it was a lighter shade, also the picture above was much better looking before I saved it and posted it here, I dont know why it got altered, I mean the colours were more vibrant, especially the Red 'swissair' title which is now looking sort of Brownish.

Its just that too much of the chocolate brown probably would not look as nice as just the cheatline in that color (just my opinion).

maybe our friend who has been busy doing some color schemes on airplanes that those airlines never really owned could take out a little time and post a picture of a real MD 11 with your recommended scheme.

UN_B732, Yes I drew that, glad you like the winglets.

Vimanav, as far as the colour is concerned a darker shade of Brown would be preferred, I could swear the Brown in MS Paint of Windows 98 is darker.

Since SR is dead, I'd rather see a new livery for LX! How about this... (not my creation though)

I think Swiss Air's current livery is beautiful. It's simple, clean, and crisp. I love it. Looks great in every shot.

Hi!

That livery is not so outstanding. Before the last livery SR used, they had a nice 2 tone brown cheatline in their planes, I think they used the brown due to the swiss chocolat - by the way, its excelent!!!!

Uhh, he said "Since SR is dead, I'd rather see a new livery for LX! How about this... (not my creation though)"....
Anyways, that one looks very nice.

Mikephotos Thanks a million, I think photos dont do justice to my idea, as you can see the brilliant Red SR used for their livery is also coming out rather dull and darkish in your post.

Unique do you have the address of the designer who did those schemes?

Can both you guys post the links to these photos as they're getting cut over here.

Well his JAL livery seems more interesting than their present one, the Green replaced with Grey as in the swissairways sceheme or Silver would look better, the tail logo could be larger too, http://perso.wanadoo.fr/puck/JAL.jpg.

When i hear the name "swiss" and "swissair" i am wondering if all the passengers who had tickets from "swissair" still after their insolvency, got their money back? Also: did the companies who have built galleys for SR, got their money?
Anybody knows? A "new" airline with planes from SR, employees from SR etc, paying money back to SR-clients?
I fear: no. A shame!

How can a company pay somebody when there is absolutely no money left?

Don't get me wrong, I'm neither related to SR nor LX in any form. It's in every company, if there is no more money, the bills aren't paid.

I don't know if the choice of the name for the new airline was done under political pressure...

Unique, for me Swiss and Swissair are the same!
Yes, i know, officially this are 2 different companies. But if a company has the old sr-planes, the old sr-staff, etc. so it's the same company for me.
SR ordered galleys in little companies, they made reconfirmation to this little companies so that they produced the galleys and already at the time they gave the reconfirmation, they knew that they woldn't exist any longer. Also the passengers: they bought tickets, have been somewhere in the world and have been told: eih, your ticket is good to clean your a**.
i know it's old-fashioned, but for me this is no moral.
and, as i already mentioned: swiss is same like swissair, just other outfit. and even this didnt change that much.

I personally like Swissair's old "bandit" scheme from the 70's.

Everyone who is not well versed with aviation thinks of Swiss as Swissair rebranded, they do not know that SR was dissolved. Maybe the management should have revived SR with a complete new image.

The new Swissair liverly is likely to be a white fuselage with a dark blue and yellow tail........exactly the same as Lufthansa.

Stefandotde, I'm quite surprise how little you know about the story of SR and LX! Have a look at the fleet, or didn't you know that SR operated Embraers and Saabs...? Same with the management: the big boss is ex Crossair, the president is ex KLM, etc. etc.

Max,

I rather wonder whether Swiss would still be around if Airmale had done the technical drawings for MD...  Big grin But then again a MD-11SP might have suited SR's needs better... Big grin

Mikephotos Thanks for the link, could you please do the same on an A330, I forgot to say the Brown you have used is the exact shade I wanted, its got a hint of Burgundy in it and looks great, nothing "shitty" about that guys, I admit my colour was off putting but I had no choice it is one of two Brown's in MS Paint and if you think what I used looks bad then go check the other one, even though its closer to the original SR Brown cheatline from the 80's.
