MTV Dc-10

I think this DC-10 was owned by Canadian. Did MTV buy it? Or just leasing it? Have the re-done the interior? any info on this plane would be appreciated.

CALGARY, Dec. 17 /CNW/ - Canadian Airlines today announced that MTV:
Music Television, the world's most widely distributed television network, has
chartered a Canadian Airlines DC10 aircraft for an around-the-world tour,
beginning December 20 in New York City.
The MTV charter flight billed as ``Fly2K'', will touch down in 5 cities
on 3 continents including, Rovaniemi (Lapland, Finland), Rome, Paris and
London, before returning to New York tens days later. Canadian Airlines crews
will welcome on board musical artists 98 Degrees and Goo Goo Dolls, MTV's DJ
Scribble, and MTV contest winners from around the world. 98 Degrees and DJ
Scribble will be on board for the entire global adventure and the Goo Goo
Dolls will join the crew in London for the final leg of the journey. MTV is
seen by more than 303.8 million viewers world wide.
``The MTV charter builds on the success Canadian has achieved with the
various Trade Missions we've hosted,'' says Don Casey, Senior Vice President,
Planning. ``We are very pleased that our bid to operate this charter was
successful and we look forward to being involved with this high profile event
which will be seen worldwide.''
``Over 375 Canadian Airlines flight attendants entered a lottery to win
one of 8 staff assignments for the special charter,'' adds Casey. ``The crew
is looking forward to welcoming MTV contest winners and MTV's almost 304
million viewers onboard.''
The DC10, a 254-seat aircraft, is part of Canadian Airlines' DC10 fleet.
The aircraft has been customized to feature the MTV, Goo Goo Dolls, 98 Degrees
and Fly2K logos.

The Canadian DC-10 was painted to sport MTV logos. I saw it in the dark sitting outside CP's Vancouver hangar on Saturday night, From what I could see, it had a blue tail with a circular logo.
