CanJet Airlines, Canada’s low-fare airline, announced today it will add flights to Florida this fall and winter with the introduction of new weekly non-stop service to Sarasota/Bradenton from both Toronto and Ottawa as well as new weekly non-stop service between Montreal and West Palm Beach beginning Saturday, November 1st., 2003.

Julie N. Gossen, Executive Vice-President & Chief Operating Officer, said, “Our market research clearly indicates central Canadians have a long-standing attraction for these Florida locations. Our new non-stop flights to Sarasota/Bradenton from Toronto and Ottawa and our new non-stop service to West Palm Beach from Montreal will complement CanJet’s already established Halifax to St. Petersburg flights which also begin November 1st.” The Toronto to Sarasota/Bradenton non-stop service will depart Pearson International each Saturday at 9:00 a.m. and depart from Sarasota/Bradenton at 1:00 p.m. The Ottawa to Sarasota/Bradenton service will depart Ottawa on Saturdays at 10:15 a.m. and depart from Florida at 2:30 p.m. while the Montreal to West Palm Beach service will depart Montreal at 10:05 a.m. and depart from West Palm Beach at 2:35 p.m.

One-way web fares from Toronto to Sarasota/Bradenton will start as low as $144 and one-way web fares from Ottawa to Sarasota/Bradenton and Montreal to West Palm Beach will start as low as $154. As well, CanJet customers in St. John’s and Halifax will have same day connections in both directions to and from Sarasota/Bradenton and West Palm Beach now offering them the choice of three Florida destinations this fall and winter.

Good! I travel to Sarasota every March and the collapse of C3 has left a gap in the YYZ-FLA market.
I dumped at the gybe mark in strong winds when I looked up at a Porter Q400 on finals. Can't stop spotting.

Good to see C6 add new airports besides the usual MCO, FLL. Nice to see YOW have another new seasonal route.

PBI-YUL-Awesome! South Florida is the biggest transborder market from Montreal (well, maybe second to New York City) so this is very welcomed news. Now Montreal travelers can travel to all three Florida area airports with 65 weekly flights (plus four from YQB) on four airlines.

this is definitely's great to have air canada and canjet both operating out of pbi. it's especially great for me to be able to get to st. john's without having to pay air canada's outrageous fares. does anyone have any info on canjet? service? legroom?

I have flown them once. You can't expect too much with those low fares (lowest in Canada, I'd say), but the crew were very friendly, the plane was clean and I think legroom was about average for low-fare airlines. They squeeze 120 into the 732's; I'm not sure how that compares to WN for instance!

Plus, I was excited to fly on an old 732!
Next flight.... who knows.
