NY Times Article On Plane Spotting In New York

Sun Aug 10, 2003 7:22 am

Hey all

Just got a letter in the mail from my grandma with an enclosed article from the Times talking about plane spotting in NYC..

They mentioned one place for LGA and one for JFK. Those are:

LGA- Planeview Park
JFK- Gateway Bird Sanctuary

Have any of you ever been to these places? Are they good? The pic in the article sure makes Planeview out to be a hell of a spot when they are landing on 4...

This is an old article, fomr a few months ago I believ.e

And yeah, planeview is pretty cool, but its a battle with a fence for pics. The fence is about 6'3" tall.

Not sure of its age...

Anywho- the planes dont land right over the park? Its odd that a fence would be blocking the way...

Thanks for the reply

No Ben but the fences cut 45 degrees angle to runway 4 and the landing path...quite a amazing spot if u ask me!  Smile/happy/getting dizzy
