It will be the same set of airlines that currently use Terminal 2 (i.e., all except Swiss and the oneworld carriers)

Aren't charters and some other short-haul flights supposed to remain in Terminal 2?

To be correct: All airlines could dock at the E gates. It does not depend if they are in Terminal 1 or 2. Terminal 2 will stay as it is now but the B gates will be closed until they are needed again, and then perhaps reopend and renovated. This means probably, all airlines which docked at the B gates will be at the E gates and probaly all Swiss and Oneworld wide-bodies. I think most Swiss and Oneworld narrow-bodies will park at the A gates.

It's officially opened on 1st September. First aircraft handling, however, have already started on 4th August and 1st passengers to go through the new pier will be on 23rd August.

Pier B will be closed as per 15th September.

U.S.-carriers will move to Pier A, LX-flights to the U.S. will also be at Pier A. OneWorld-flights from Pier A, Star Alliance flights with hard stands (CRJ's, ATR's, etc.) will be parked south of Pier B, using Check-in 2, while flights for pier positions will be at Pier E (like SQ, TG, etc.).

Taking pictures will be more difficult than today as you have to choose from two viewing decks (B and E). Good luck and happy shooting!

Cheers

Unique - A question:

I noticed several Swiss-planes at the new dock today, with jetways attached....

Are they now fully served via the new dock?

Michael, the plan before I went on leave was to have passengers to go through the jetties as per 23rd August only. On Monday when back in the office I can tell you more if it was decided to bring the date forward...

Michael, the jetties are connected to the aircraft, passengers will board/disembark via these but then travel by bus to/from the aircraft. The reason for this is a) to help the jetty drivers to gain experience and b) the space situation for steps is critical between the aircraft as obviously it's not designed to handle aircraft by steps.
Hope it clarified your inquiry!

I got today the "Unique!-newspaper"...and was quite confused to find a list of airlines which will use the new Dock E.

There were a lot of airlines NOT listed which use currently Terminal B...just to mention some: SAA, Lufthansa, Air France, Edelweiss, SAS, Belair, Korean,...

Where will those airlines be parked...really at Dock A?
