Will CX's B 747-400s Be Back In SYD Anytime Soon?

Sun Aug 17, 2003 4:45 pm

It has been a while CX hasn't sent its B 747-400s into SYD while SQ is doing a double daily B 747-400 service and a single daily B 777-300 service between SIN and SYD.

Will CX's B 747-400s be back anytime soon? If yes, when?

Having worked with CX this summer in reservations and sales, I did some pax bkgs on CX HKG-SYD flights in DEC 03 and JAN 04 and the Unisys reservation system of CX showed for DEC-JAN only 2 daily A 333 flights and not even A 346s.

But that can change anytime from OCT onwards based on the demand scale which should be v high in DEC-JAN as its the Aussie summer holiday season as well as the rest of the world's winter holiday season.

Word has it depending on forward bookings a decision on fleet mix for 2004 will be made soon as CX still have a few 747-400's parked, as we speak.
