JAT has basically stopped operating the DC-10 on its regularly scheduled flights. However if you wish to fly the JAT DC-10, your best bet would be to book tickets with MAT Macedonian Airlines (SKP - ZRH
- SKP). Otherwise, JAT does operate the DC-10 on some of its chartered flights in addition to leasing to other companies...
Meanwhile JAT will no longer fly to North America with the DC-10. Nevertheless, direct flights will be established between Belgrade and New York (JFK
Terminal 4) in cooperation with Uzbekistan Airways. The aircraft used on this route will be the Boeing 767-300. Flights commence in September.
I flew on the JAT DC-10 two years ago (CDG
). It was comforable, and had the same leg room as any other standard long range aircraft from Europe. The real difference between the DC-10 and more modern aircraft is essentially the cabin noise (louder than the traditional Airbus), and entertainment (no PTVs). Service, on the other hand, was very comparable to any of the major European airlines.
