Austrian Service To Beirut Only Seasonal?

Thu Aug 21, 2003 7:35 pm

Austrian resumed service to Beirut on May 29 after suspending it due to drop in traffic because of the war in Iraq. However it looks like the last flight is on October 26.

Is this only a summer seasonal flight?

Hi BA,

You probably know this, that this was adopted lately by OS to cut costs and it involves other destination than BEY.

Regards.

Yeah, OD720 is right! OS is really in troubles, because Tyrolean and Lauda Air pilots wants to get more money, but the Airline want to go on with cutbacks... Now pilots said they will maybe start a strike... So, let's hope AUA will no go down :-(

Thanks for the reply. I found it a bit strange that they are stopping BEY service yet keeping service to Damascus (and infact increasing it) when BEY is a larger market than DAM.

Hopefully things will get better and they'll resume BEY.

Regards
