When Will Frontier Return To The NE?

Sat Aug 23, 2003 4:52 am

As a recently transplanted Coloradoan (I moved to Boston to begin Ph.D. studies) I was disappointed when Frontier discontinued service to BOS. I spoke with a f/a who said they'd like to come back to New England, but it would probably be to PVD. That would be great, since commuter rail links Boston to Providence Big grin. Anybody know what the status of this is?

Btw, is Frontier F9?  Smile

Yep Frontier is F9. I would like to see Frontier have some of the growth that JetBlue is having.

The problem at Boston is gates. because of the renovation of Terminal A, gates are at a premium.

JetBlue has already said that they will serve Boston, but all the airport could offer them were gates in the International terminal, which, for whatever reason, are more expensive, even for domestic flights.

Once the gate situation resolves, I would guess you'll see Frontier back in Boston.

Mariner: jetblue has NOT said it will serve boston. however, jetblue officials have been exploring the possibility of boston. they are also looking at manchester and providence.

yes, boston gates are at a premium. but once the new terminal A is finished, delta's move wiill free up a lot of space.

Capt078:

I can't link the article because you have to pay for the archived material, but some months ago there was an article in the Boston Globe in which JetBlue CEO Neeleman said it was "not a question of if, but when" they would serve Boston.

I grant you plans may have changed since then.

cheers
