To summarize so far:
The other Beech 1900, which crashed at CLT
, was *not* a Colgan Air flight as reported by the AP
. That plane was owned by Mesa Air Group and operated by Air Midwest, dba USAirways Express.
Today's accident involved a Colgan Air Beech 1900 on a repositioning flight to ALB
. There were no passengers on board and the two souls on board were the pilot and first officer.
The plane crashed into the ocean about 3 miles off West Yarmouth, short of the runway.
The pilots had declared an emergency and reported problems maintaining trim, which is the up-down positioning of the nose using the horizontal stabilizer. So far, this is the *only* similarity with the CLT
There is no word yet on whether either of the pilots survived.
