Just Had My First Flying Lesson Today!

Wed Aug 27, 2003 5:30 am

I just completed my first flying lesson today in a Cessna Skyhawk at the local municipal airport!! It was AWESOME!! Pilots sure have the best job there is. I just hope in about 5 or 6 years that I will be paid to fly them!! It is just an awesome experience that you cant explain unless you've actually done it!! It is also a much different experience than being a passenger!! It was one of the greatest thrills I've had in my entire life, and there will be much more to come. It is only the beginning!!

Congrats; I remember my first lesson in 1994 like yesterday. Be safe out there!

Thats awesome that you enjoyed it as much as you did. Good luck with your future training and wherever it may take you. You're sure going to have a lot of fun along the way no matter what.

Congrats, indeed!

I watched the episode of "Learning to Fly" where Kyle took her first solo...I
had tears in my eyes as I watched.

All these "firsts" you will go through will increase in importance and thrill level. First flight, definitely cool. First solo, what a rush! How about your first solo cross country? You really feel like you've accomplished something by then. Now, I just need to do my flight test and find out what that's like!

Good luck and happy flying well into the future.

I should have noted one thing before. Don't do what I did I my first solo, don't forget to double check that ALL of your seat belt is inside. Damn what a noise!! I thought I had serious issues at that point.  Laugh out loud

i too will add my congratulations. it's awesome isn't it. i love flying. Boeing nut hit the nail on the head, solo flight is exhilarating. i remember i was terrified for my first solo. but after my three take-offs and landings, my adrenalin was pumping for hours. in the meantime, wait until you get to do some of the really cool maneuvers. stalls, unusual attitudes, and steep turns are awesome. oh, and wait until you get to fly at night. there is nothing more liberating than a night flight, especially one over a big city; the lights are beautiful.
