AF A319 Longhaul?

Wed Aug 27, 2003 6:03 pm

AF will lease two A319 from ILFC in the Long Range version. Maybe they're planning a similar all-Business lomghaul operation like LH?

That's true, Air France will definitely lease two Airbus Industrie A319LR for delivery in spring 2004 (c/n 2213 and c/n 2228). Although I haven't heared anything about all-business long-haul charters by Air France yet, it is most likely that they have been inspired by the success of the Lufthansa/Privatair cooperation.

I read on an AF-related site that many of the "Petroleum Club" passengers / companies are saying that they would prefer a mono-biz-class-cabin for their destinations. The order for the A319LR is perhaps in view of this "request".

They need something to replace the Concorde, don't they.

So in case a Concorde substitution plus biz-class only services to Petroleum Cliub destinations are inteded, this could mean flights from CDG to JFK, Luanda and IAH? What else are Petroleum Club destinations?

Yes, I know about JFK, I meant it a a destination for the Concorde substitution.

However, thanks for listing the other Petroleum Club destinations.  Smile

According to informations I had yesturday, AF plans to use these a/c to open now routes to the middle-east, including SDA that was planned for next winter schedule but will certainly not be re-opened, due to the "uncertain" situation over there. Re-opening THR is also considered, all this in a classic C/Y configuration...for the moment.
