AA And BA To Codeshare

Fri Aug 29, 2003 5:28 am

The world's two best airlines today announced that they are going to codeshare on certain flights, including trans-atlantic flights to MAN.

Is this the first step toward an open-skies agreement? Doubtful, but maybe they could finally get approval to codeshare on flights to London ... everyone else gets to codeshare transatlantic!
"Lose" is not spelled with two o's!!!!

Since EU has already addressed the issue of starting to renegotiate an Open skies agreement with all of EU and the US, you can bet that eventually when the congestion is solved at LHR, they will do this very thing. Previous decisions regarding competitiveness amongst companies have showed that they will try to level the playing field. BA/AA need this opportunity more than anyone else involved. They are losing ground to the other two alliances
world-wide. This is an area that they have a competitive advantage, but they cannot capitalize on it.
