Honestly, guys, I don't know what do you expect of an airlane... 5* hotel service? C'mon, it is an airplane, personal entertainment systems are relatively new toys and what's important is to get to your destination. It has good service on board and hot meals. Is not this more important than a few PTVs? I'm afraid that many of the posters complaining about I-don't-know-why are teens that expect nothing less than a personalized integrated 3D game boy on board. Isn't it a little bit too much?
I fully subscribe IBERIA747's
arguments on Iberia.
About Spanair, just fine. Accepting maybe that the older M80s are coming from the charter ages. Today it is a fully regular airline flying to every spanish airports several times a day achieving 95% punctuality or giving a full ticket for free.
Air Europa is maybe the only complaint now, as they have been announcing fare reduction eliminating meals on board, and finally the meals have been eliminated and the fares keep as they were.
Also, why do you mean that the service is "so average"????
If it is "average" it is not bad... I have flown a few dozens flights on Iberia, Air Europa, Spanair and, out of Spain, Olympic. Olympic has some kind of "homeland warmth" although I'm not greek, and for the rest... Well, there must be some reason why Iberia cut offer only 5% while BA
cut 20%, for example, and why having invested in such large orders (95 A32X family, and 15 340) it is, as of today, the only european "regular" airline having profits. I would not want to make a mistake, but in the range of 275M €
You indeed seem to have a bad eye on Iberia, is it maybe due to the result on the business temptative on AR
? Those bad results were fruit of the excessive corruption in high Aerolineas spheres and the wild strikes in opposition to whom was trying to save the company. I don't know why Argentinians took so bad that airlanes were flying as Aerolineas in Iberia colors... actually, they were flying FOR
Aerolineas at IBERIA's expenses, causing, by then, an important outgoing cash flow from here... I wonder how someone else dared to buy Aerolineas after that, but in any way, some thousands of firings and advanced retirements have been executed, exactly the same Iberia wanted (needed) to do for viability of a company with exagerated oversatff. Take it easy.
