MIA's 08/26, according to the photo linked above, doesn't have precision approach markings -- only the touchdown zone markings. Will they even outfit the runway with ILS? It could be used primarily for departures, which would have to cross 09L/27R, a la PHL
, but I could see that causing delays and other problems.
I agree with the poster who said it would have made more sense to designate the new runway 09L/27R. They could have minimized confusion further by designating the existing north-side runway 09C/27C, keeping the 09R/27L designation on the south-side runway.
Anyone know why they didn't do that?
