Why No Side Stick On Fed Ex A310?

Mon Sep 01, 2003 8:48 am

I saw the flightdeck of a FedEx A310-200 and I saw it didn't have an Airbus sidestick. Does Airbus make planes with yokes too?

all A300s and a310s were built with yokes, the sidestick only came along with the A320 and its FBW flight controls. All models built by Airbus since then (A318/319/320/321/330/340 and A380 will too) all use the same setup.
Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.

Thanks for the quick answer, I thought the side stick was an Airbus trademark from the beginning.
