For The YYZ Crowd: What Ever Happened To ...

Mon Sep 01, 2003 9:15 pm

... the "Timmy/Tammy" Easter Seals charity fundraising flights that Canadian Airlines used to put on every September from YYZ over Niagara Falls and back in a 767-300ER? As far as I know, Air Canada was going to go ahead with the flight back in 2001, but then 9/11 happened and it was cancelled. Have they resurrected the flights at all in the last two years, or is that something that Air Canada has discontinued? I used to go on those flights (sometimes twice the same day!) ever since 1986. Any info on their status?

Cheers.

Yes, these flights were a lot of fun. I have gone twice, and was disappointed when they were cancelled by Air Canada. As far as I know, they are gone for good.

It figures. I kind of felt that Air Canada would eventually get rid of them after taking over Canadian. It's a pity that none of the other airlines picked up on the idea.

I doubt that AC got rid of it just because they are AC...They have a hard enough time keeping the regular revenue flights in the air, never mind the special PR ones...
