Looks pretty OK, better then the 737s... But with two overwing exits, it looks more like a 320 then I ever expected, that will be difficult if they ever fly 320s as well.
nobody has ever died from hard work, but why take the risk?

One of the world's most uninspiring airline liveries, but an interesting shot nonetheless.

Now we will see whether Airbus can deliver the kind of short-turnarounds and reliability that so attracted low-cost operators to the 737.

I like it! The aircraft, anyway  Big grin Orange is good for an LCC - grabs your attention. I'd love to make a flight on one of these, tho LTN, STN and LGW are all a bit out of my way.

Is that a real name of the photographer or just a username?  Big thumbs up

Nice shot. Oddly enough, the A320 looks less ugly in the Easyjet livery than the 737s....

Another proof for the "I´m cheap and I want to show"-livery of Easyjet.

I like it a lot...although the two overwing exits is a little confusing...are they the only ones with 2 overwing emer. exits on an A319?

I love the livery - it looks exciting, modern and fun. It has also very rapidly become one of THE most recognisable liveries in Europe.

As for that abomination of a paint scheme on the side of a recent Irish 737-800, now that looks cheap, cheap, cheap.

I wish easyJet every bit of luck with their A319s - they have made a brave move and I hope they succeed.

The first A319 with 2 OWWE?? Is this new or just an option?

Tamsin:
Actually, I always thought the Ryanair scheme is by far the most elegant looking of all the European LCCs - the most recent one being a very good refinement of an already great colour scheme....

Easyjet, on the other hand, makes me wanna puke - from the colours only, nothing to do with service or anything, of course

JetMARC,
it's new but not an option. It's required if you want 150 seats in the aircraft.

I really like it, but I didn't know it was going to be Easyjet Switzerland's plane. Is that true?

She never said the Easyjet scheme looked elegant, she said it looked modern and fun. Ryanair are far from elegant as an airline so their colour scheme is misleading, whereas I think Easyjets scheme is much more apt for the airline, clean, simple, cheap, fun.

Just a clarification there, and I think the A319 looks great  Big thumbs up.

Delivery date for HB-JZA is Saturday September 27th.
I was hoping for a new livery mixing Go and easyjet's schemes yet unfortunately this won't happen  Sad
Anyhow the plane looks pretty nice. easyJet has said in its inflight magazine this month that it will have 156 seats whilst a few months ago 150 was the number disclosed.

I'm sure we will see these swiss based planes in the UK,

remember:

Geneva based planes fly to :

Amsterdam, Barcelona, East Midlands, Liverpool, London Gatwick, Luton, Nice and Paris

I calculate that 50% of the A319 flights should therefore be to the UK!

seat pitch is a concern though, with 150 seats, this means 25 rows

airbus website says 134 seats (1 class layout) with 32" pitch, we know the emergency door is now replaced with two "mini" doors, creating another one (?) row.

So that makes 140 seats.

the extra 10 must be squeezed in - perhaps by removal of one lavatory - does anyone know what the config is?

Actually this is slightly wrong, Liverpool is operated by easyJet UK. Plus in winter when LTN and LGW run at about 10x dailys on saturdays all except 4 flights are operated by easyJet UK.

Thus per day there will be (and are) 9 daily flights from Geneva to the UK (4x Luton, 4x Gatwick, 1x East Midlands).

There will be
-6 daily flights to France (4x Orly, 2x Nice).
-2 daily to Amsterdam
-2 daily to Barcelona

Hope this helps,
Tim

Looks like a toy plane! Big grin

BTW, I can't understand these people commenting about seat-pitch...what did they expect? 38" with leg-rest and lumbar support?

The production process at Airbus must be pretty slick, i remember EZ ordering the A319's only a few months ago, and now they are almost in commercial service.

Looks like nice BTW.

I was thinking about the same. I don't know a spotter from Hamburg with that name and this shot was taken from inside the Airbus Industrie plant, so perhaps he had no permission to take this shot.

In the meantime, the second aircraft (c/n 2043; D-AVYU; will become HB-JZB) has also been painted in full colours.

I guess the autumn becomes a bit boring at Hamburg-Finkenwerder (XFW). Orange A319 all over the place ...
