SN Adds Athens To It Route Map....

Tue Sep 02, 2003 6:44 am

As from September 8 2003, the Greek capital Athens, currently preparing itself for the Olympic Games of 2004, will no longer be missing in the broad range of European destinations offered by SN Brussels Airlines. SN Brussels Airlines has recently signed a code-share agreement with the new Greek full-frills airline Hellas Jet for scheduled flights between Belgium and Greece.

Hellas Jet, founded on the experience of main shareholder Cyprus Airways and already present at Brussels airport since June 2003, will operate 2 daily flights between Brussels airport and the new airport of Athens.

The time schedule of these flights allows flexible travel possibilities for passengers departing in Athens or Brussels as well as for passengers connecting on the European and African network of SN.

Time schedule:
SN 5451 leaves Brussels at 10h50 and lands in Athens at 15h00 local time.
SN 5453 leaves Brussels at 20h05 and lands in Athens at 00h15 local time. (except Saturday)

SN 5452 leaves Athens at 07h15 local time and lands in Brussels at 09h45.
SN 5454 leaves Athens at 16h40 local time and lands in Brussels at 19h05. (except Saturday)

By entering into this partnership with Hellas Jet -which will be the operating carrier- SN Brussels Airlines has once again chosen for top quality. Hellas Jet not only uses brand new Airbus A320 aircraft (16 seats in Business Class, 132 in Economy Class), it is also renowned for its great in-flight service.

In its short existence, Hellas Jet has indead already built up a quality reputation. The Business Class is in a 2/2 configuration that allows to travel relaxed and comfortable. Free hot meals and beverages are offered to all passengers. During the total flight time of 3h10 the passengers can watch BBC news and entertaining programs as well as listen to different music channels.

“With this partnership SN Brussels Airlines fine-tunes its dense European network”, confirms Executive Vice-President Network Erik Follet. “Greece is an important leisure and business destination and thanks to our collaboration with Hellas Jet we can now offer our customers an excellent product.”

Some more thoughts....

A small comparison between schedules shows that the 2 SN flights to Athens (one morning and one late evening flight) offer far more travel flexibility than the 2 VEX flights (one early morning and one noon flight) or the 2 OA flights (one noon and one evening flight).

Ticket fares in economy-restricted one way start at around 105 euro, which are very competitive for a full-frills ticket and are most likely ever cheaper than a regular Virgin Express ticket with all the supplements for onboard service. (not included on VEX)!
