Any Info On NW A3xx At SDF Today?

Thu Sep 04, 2003 10:52 am

As I was driving home from southern KY today I noticed a NW 'bus on the tarmac here at SDF. It was in the new colors -- looked really nice.

I'm sure it was a diversion but can someone look to see where it diverted from and what the problem could have been?

Thanks,
John

I would have hoped someone had information on this. I often see posts on here about diverted planes, etc. Someone always has the inside scoop on it! I'm a little bit disappointed!

When I flew home on NW from SDF last weekend there were 2 A320's parked on the tarmac. I asked the gate agent why they were there and she said they had a couple of charter flights scheduled for later in the day. My guess is they were military charters???

College sports charters maybe?

I was thinking about the A320 at SDF you suggested yesterday, did MEM have bad weather maybe it was a diversion

It was NW9846 (from MSP) and it appears to have been subsituted for the normal NW874 from MSP which arrives around 5:40 p.m.-6:00 p.m.

That's my guess.

9846 would be a charter flight number, not a regularly scheduled aircraft, even as a substitution. Unless they needed the aircraft for subsitution in SDF and ferried it in, then it would likely use the 9xxx range flight number.

Thanks for the info. I tried looking on Passur for an inbound or outbound but I never saw the A320 on the monitor.

Cheers,
John
