LOT Codeshares Transatlantic With United Airlines

Sat Sep 06, 2003 6:17 am

LOT - the flag carrier for Poland has signed a codeshare agreement with United Airlines - a Member of Star Alliance.

In addition, LOT confirmed that it will join the Star Alliance on 26 October 2003. It already has similar agreements with Austrian Airlines, bmi British Midland Limited, All Nippon Airways and Deutsche Lufthansa.

The switch from a transatlantic codeshare with American Airlines to United Airlines is "a strategic move for us to become a full-fledged member of the Star Alliance," said spokesman Leszek Chorzewski.

Other Star Alliance members include: Singapore Airlines Limited, Air Canada, Air New Zealand, Lauda Air (AUA), Mexicana, SAS Scandinavian Airlines, Singapore Airlines Limited, Spanair, Thai Airways International, Tyrolean Airways (AUA), US Airways and VARIG Brasil.
