CO announced today that they are converting 4 757 businness cabins into the domestic configurations. Therefore adding 8 more first class seats and 3 in coach. Adding an additional 44 seats to our market (wow alot huh!).

Makes sense, ever since the 762 and 764 arrived, CO flies far fewer 757 on "business-first" routes (transatlantic and select latin american routes) and many of the international 757s simply fly domestic routes (I was on a 757B last week FLL-EWR).

The 75B, with only 16 first class seats, cuts revenue potential and limits upgrade possibilities on domestic flights which is a problem for CO. For example, on my flight last week, the 75B subbed for a standard 757, and 6 gold elite and 2 silver elite passengers were un-upgraded on the flight....they were obviously not happy. Luckily, I did sit up front and the BusinessFirst Seats are a treat, but are really not necessary for the shorter-haul flights.

Does anyone have an exact number of how many CO 757s are in domestic configuration and how many are in international configuration?

Continental currently has 18 B.757-224's configured in the Business First cabin configuration of 16/156 and 23 B.757-224's in domestic 24/159 configuration. CO recently said it would re-fit some of the BF aircraft to domestic configuration.
