AMS-BHX, Only KLM Left!

Sat Sep 06, 2003 10:23 pm

Trying to book a trip to BHX in Nov, I note that BAW and MYL have dropped the route. Duo (who operated the route for BAW when they were Maersk Air UK) are also not operating. It leaves only one airline, KLM (Cityhopper) with a nice monopoly. I can't believe that this route can't handle more than one carrier.

Strange, but BA have pulled out of alot of routes from Birmingham recently, so AMS must of been one of the less profitable ones, also MyTravelLite have pulled out of the more "business cities" like Amsterdam and Paris and have redeployed their aircraft on the bucket and spade routes where they can get away with charging alot more for the seats I assume.
