Been In An Accident?

I would like to know if anyone has been in an accident or depressurization or anything else like that. If so I would appreciate it if you could respond.

Been in an aborted takeoff (Delta L1011 in Honolulu) as a passenger, and had a few Go-arounds as a pilot over the years, but never an accident.

Well, if a go-around counts, yes. On my flight from IAD-BDL, the captain went half way down the runway, got about 50 ft. from the runway, and totally boosted the power, we took off for another 10 mniutes, and finally landed.

Yes I have, it was on a Pan Am 747 from SFO-TYO in July '71.

No, but it was still not so nice!

It was on a good old DC9-30 of Aviaco (now Iberia) last year, flying from Barcelona (BCN) to Alicante (ALC). The pilot aborted landing and said that he has a indication of a front gear malfunction. The next was to pass at low altitude and speed near the tower to check if the gear is down. Then he landed, but with all the emergency vehicles prepared in case the front gear collapses.

The plane made a late landing and during breaking we heard a loud bang (tyre blow?) and stopped at the end of the rwy. A mechanic checked the front gear and finally we made our way, inside the plane, to the terminal.

I never had such a bad time on an aircraft. Basically because you have the awefull sensation that you can not do anything to improve the situation and are in the hands of the pilots!

Never in what could be called an accident but a few scary experiences.
An aborted takeoff on a snowy day at BUF on a (then) USAir DC9. Not good at all. We basically skidded to a stop, but at least we stopped or else we would have come to rest on the New York State Thruway.
A scary go around in an American 767 landing at JFK was another one. We were over the runway, about to touch down, and all of a sudden, up we went into a hard (and I mean hard) left turn. Looking out the window on the left side of the plane it seemed as if I was looking straight down at the ground. The pilot told us, once safely on the ground, that a plane had wandered onto our runway.

Happy New Year to all airliner.net denizens!

I was on a UA DC-10 from LAX to DEN that aported landing right at the last minute. We we're so close to the ground and then the next thing...full power!! The capt. said that another plane was a little slow clearing the runway and forced us to go around. Another time on a new AA 777 from DFW to ORD we aborted take off because of a cargo door light malfunction. That one was the wildest, we had no idea what was going on. The flight crew was horrible, they just held us in suspence!
