Anyone here know the Reg # of Air Force One??

The 2 VC-25As (most often "Air Force One"s) are registered:

The tail numbers of the two VC-25A aircraft are:
28000 and 29000.

Just to clarify an obvious contradiction in above two messages the first is how they are officially registered (the number before the '-' actually gives you the year the aircraft was built, this is true for most USAF aircrafts (but not US Navy)) and the latter is how the registrations are appear on the aircraft.
Anyone knows why that is so ?
