WTF has he had to do with Concorde? (Apart from trying to muscle in on it's retirement for his own PR), and flying on the BA ones on an ID ticket.
Well it is on Channel 5, don't expect too much, (makes a change from documentaries on Channel 5 about porn or the Nazis I suppose).

Shame on Channel five (the UK's dumbest TV channel for anyone outside the UK)

Hoe can you get soemone to present a progrrame on a subject that has never had anything to do with it.

If is is baised in any way I will be complaining to the Uk TV regulator, the ITC, we have strict rules here in the UK that are vigerously enforced. Ba need the essentialy the same amount of airtime thet VS get!

Expect glowing tributes to the aircraft and it's performance, but not BA!

Good point Gooner@LHR, who made it work profitably, who saved it 20 years ago by doing the former, who invested up to £1 billion over 27 years, who utilized it fully and developed profitable routes and the extensive charter programme, who stood by it in 2000 and pushed the relaunch, who was forced into an earlier than planned retirement by AF and Airbus?
Not the bearded supersonic wannabe.

Why exactly HM's government decided to knight this arsehole still escapes me.

Couldn't resist it! A television preview from today's Sunday Times!

SUPERSONIC: THE CONCORDE STORY
Five, 8pm

“She’s beautiful, exciting and glamorous, and I’ve always wanted her,” says Richard Branson, who presents this self-promoting documentary about Concorde. It describes the plane’s magnificent technology and its terrible economics, and gives Branson a chance to vent his frustration at not being allowed to buy the remaining fleet. The history of Concorde, apparently, has always been linked to the story of Branson. “By 1972,” he tells us, “I had a nice little business selling records. People wanted my records. No one, it seemed, wanted Concorde.” It must be destiny.

Last time I saw the man at interview he could hardly string a coherent sentence together.

I await eagerly his performance presenting a TV programme.

What an appaling waste of time that was........they should have renamed the programme 'Reasons why BA is rubbish, hosted by Tricky Dicky'.

And next week at the same time 'Why I'm right about the whole Dr Kelly thing, hosted by T Blair'

Unfortunately there are a lot of people who will believe SRB on this one, even though he conveniently 'forgot' half the facts.

Matt, I think you're being a little harsh. Sure, he promoted his company (no surprises there), but I can't remember any specific instances in which he actually 'bashed' BA.

Sure, the fact that Airbus decided to pull the plug in agreement with AF/BA was blatantly glossed over, but other than this, I quite enjoyed the programme.

As far as I am concerned, VS did not feature significantly in the programme (nor should it have).

Didn't know SR had a lisp...sorry not a 'lisp' but he pronounces words in a weird way, especially anything with an 's' in it.....totally irrelevant observation, but there you go.

Maybe I was being harsh....but I distinctly recall how he emphasized the point about buying the last Concordes for £1 and how BA had the 80/20 profit split agreement changed so that it kept 100 per cent of the profits. On one hand he is saying what a great technological achievement Concorde has been and how proud we should be, and on the other hand he says that the British people have been subsidizing BA's Premium traffic for the last 20 years.

Makes a change from subsidizing his trains by £200million a year.
