What's The RAF Doing At MSP?

Thu Sep 11, 2003 1:05 pm

For the past two days there has been an RAF L1011 in and out of MSP, I think it's the same one at least. Also yesterday there were two VC-10's over at the remote parking pad.

Anybody know how long they are going to be here for, and what they are doing here?

Thanks in advance.

I know that there were a bunch of vintage airplanes in the Twin Cities today which are part of a tour of the U.S. which is celebrating the Wright Brothers first flight.

Maybe the planes you are talking about had something to do with this. I don't know for sure, just an idea.

I thought they might be here for that airshow up in Duluth, but that's still more than a week away. I don't think they would be involved in that recreation airtour that is in town. It's not an airshow, just a bunch of antique planes on display.
