Flying In The Washington D.C. Area

Mon Sep 15, 2003 6:53 am

For those of you who fly privately in the Washington, D.C area, I'd like you to share your stories of your experiences. (i.e. waiting outside the ADIZ for hours for clearance, etc.). Who among you live in this area and have given up flying alltogether because of the hassle factor? How likely do you feel that "normal" operations will be restored to the DC3 airport? ...and perhaps DCA itself?

RE: Flying In The Washington D.C. Area

When I lived in the DC area for the first month or so it was hard to find an FBO to rent a plane to do some flying. If you are a IFR ticketed then it is usually no problem getting clearances from flight planning and thru center. I now fly out of MCO/ISM/OCF/SFB and have no problems here.
I Don't know where I am anymore
