The planes are great....Mesa has grown too quickly. This is the main reason for their unreliability...they also have crew issues...training, scheduling, the pilots forgetting which flight they are on (oye).
A big problem for the HPX operation has been the heat...in TUS
the 900's they send us overheat all of the time...mostly the batteries. We haven't had any issues with weight restrictions, mostly mechanical problems of all kinds.
They basically haven't gotten very organized, they are more interested in growing and making money. Doug Parker, CEO of HP
, stated we need to grow our mainline fleet more than the express fleet...give them time to catch up and get organized.
Ornstein is very much aware of the problems and has met with Parker to deal with the issues and get the problems resolved. Only time will tell!
The interiors they put in the planes for our flights were beautiful....light blue leather seats in F/C and the same pastel blue pattern as on our mainline fleet. Basically they look very similiar to our new Airbus interiors. Does anyone know if UA
's fleet will have first class?? What does it look like?
