Over The Atlantic?

Sun Sep 21, 2003 11:11 am

Ever since I found out about flighttracker.lycos.com ( thanks for all your replies) I have been folowing some LOT's flights to. The one I look at most is YYZ-WAW. From what I remember the plane on that route flew North East , to the South tip of Greenland, and then folowed in a south East direction. Today I was looking at the same flight from YYZ to WAW and i noticed that the map shows the flight , going North East south Labrador and heading east. No where close to Greenland. I was wondering if that was just a mistake they made or did the flight paths actually change??

Thanks

WOW
I feel bad for posting that question!!!

There is a line on the map that shows that plane will be flying east from the coast of Labrador. I gues it must be there for a different reason. The plane is following the usual fight path, which is North East to Greenland. Sorry for the unecesary post.

I wonder how truly accurate those flight tracker sites are...trip.com (when it was around) and flightracker.com just show the general area of where the plane is. Routes also depend on weather of course. I've tracked SFO-LHR flights, sometimes they go WAY north, sometimes they fly just north of MSP, over Montreal, and on east...

Have fun!

I dont know what your "flightracker" is...
Just be aware that routes over the Atlantic are variable, and change each day, every 12 yours, for West traffic, then 12 hours later, East traffic. They are designed based on prevailing winds favoring the flights.
