Bye Bye Peter Max 777?

Mon Sep 22, 2003 1:47 pm

I don't know if it's in for a C or D check, but CO's Ship 014 is in the contractor's hanger at HKG. If the paint doesn't need to come off, then Peter's flying artwork is safe for a while longer. If it does, then the good ship 014 ceases to create shock and awe wherever she goes.....

I've heard that Peter Max would be repainted, but not sure....

I don't want to see it go - one of the best liveries around at the moment. It even comes to Gatwick sometimes Big grin

While it is certainly in the hangar, it is NOT being repainted, this is a heavy C check, and the Peter Max will not be repainted until the D check next April

I'm shocked Jay Davis hasn't plugged his picture yet.

It would be a great idea to do a Peter Mac scheme on say a 737 series, it would fly to even more airports and give CO way may exposure and publicity.

That has to be the ugliest plane in the sky. Looks like Austin Powers plane.

I'm glad to hear that the Peter Max scheme will stay on the B777 for a while longer. It is a great scheme, it definitely adds color to airports around the world. In fact, I even painted a 1:144th scale model in that scheme, or at least as close as I could get it, it really is a cool scheme. I agree with Luv2fly, it would be great to see this scheme adopted on a B737, or maybe on a B757-300.

Southwest and America West have their "scheme" aircraft, it would be nice to see Continental expand their fleet with more schemes from Peter Max.

It would be cool if CO did some theme planes to honor the cities/States there hubs are located in..... They could get a lot of media attention sponsoring a contest for designs and then just flying these colorful planes around there route map. Maybe I'll send the idea to Gordon.

Hey Jeremy.

Fire me an email when you get a sec, I seem to have misplaced yours as the one I sent just the other day came back.

While I wouldn't object to seeing a few 'Theme' CO aircraft, GB has said on more then one occasion that he does NOT like that idea at all. Odds are good that once Mad Max 014 is D Checked, it's like will not be seen at CO again for some time to come.
