Gloved Pilots?

Mon Sep 22, 2003 8:07 pm

Hello, was looking at a pic about 4 yrs ago taken in the cockpit of a Japan Airlines 767 aproaching Kai Tak, and i noticed the captain, who was doing the flying, was wearing what appeared to be very thin , almost like surgical type gloves. Can anybody give any reason why he`d be wearing them? Is it a standard practice for some airlines, or could it be just a personal thing?

Typical in Japan. Even Taxi Drivers, Bus drivers etc. wear gloves. I don't think it is a standard practice. It's just a custom in Japan.

This has been discussed at least 5 times in here ...
