Mesa (Freedom Air) now have First Class seating on their Rj's (CRJ
-700's & CRJ
-900's) with 6 seats, will we see airlines like ASA, Comair, AE
, CoEx, etc...follow the trend? I know that seat cost per mile is very important with the RJ
's so I would imagine the 70-seaters RJ
's and higher would be the only candidates. However I was wondering about the 40-seat RJ
's that both ASA & Comair have could be converted to allow for some FC. These jets are exactly the same as their 50-seat brothers with the first two rows and last two seats on the left side removed, and unusable closets that replaced them. However I understand that if additional seats were installed then Bom. would charge the respective airline for the difference in cost from the 40-50. Any opinions if we'll see any more regionals with FC?
