Fly-in Communities

anyone know where these kind of communities exist? i'd love to live there. at least the people there won't complain about noise, since we'd all be pilots! Big grin

They're called residential airparks. I'd like to live in one once I own an airplane. People taxiing by as you get the mail...that'd be awesome.

I live reasonably close to Brighton Van-Aire. They're actually pretty popular in this area. The airport I fly out (48V) of is one, and we have yet another one (7CO0) just 5 miles from that one.

They are indeed a cool idea, I'd definitely love to live at one. Although, the houses can be somewhat pricey.

I know of one in Ocala Florida. From what I here John Travolta just bought there. You think he'll bring his 707 in there??  Smile

Here is an article about the founding of the earliest, Sierra Sky Park in Fresno. Talks about all the problems with things like having to change traffic laws to allow aircraft.
