Pacific Blue To Napier?

Sat Sep 27, 2003 5:04 pm

Napier (New Zealand) is currently trying to lure Pacific Blue into starting a Trans-Tasman service, as far as I understand Napier-Brisbane or Napier-Sydney is the wished connection.

Hey mate, I never believed that I would see my home town mentioned on this website. I am tickled pink, LOL. Anyways yea you are correct Pacific Blue is being lured by the Napier City and Hastings District Councils to commence service to Napier. Napier recently had its terminal upgraded. It is said that it will cost $10 million to extend the runway and upgrade other facilities. The terminal with again need to be extended to provide for international travelers, customs and ministry of agriculture. Security would have to be increased as well as more car parking provided. The runway is currently 1310m long and will need to be extended to 2100m to handle the 737 transtasman. There is enough land available for a 600m to 900m extension.

I hope this helps,
By the way is there anyone from Napier in this forum.
