2 Virgin Classics To Leave MHV

Sun Sep 28, 2003 10:30 am

G-VCAT and G-VRUM will soon be escaping from Mojave to be operated by European. They are both planned to go to San Antonio (SAT) for 'C' checks before being delivered.

Planned dates of the ferry flights are: 28 Sep (VCAT) and 5 Oct (VRUM)

Always good to see Classics leaving for new customers instead of for the scrapper's torch.

Good to hear they are finally going out of Mojave. They were very prominent while driving across Mojave..

That's great news. Shame they won't be wearing the Virgin colours, but at least that's two more classics in the sky.

Cheers

Yes it's good news to see these a/c flying again. I'm not sure if we (VS) will be involved in the delivery flight to the UK or if they become European's responsibility after the check, but I'll post an update if I hear anything.

Good 'old "sCAT" and "scUM"... as we called them here at Virgin. Hopefully they will work better for European than their record with VS!! Although the overtime pay was nice!! Good to keep 'em flying, though. Colors and reg. will change for both a/c.

Good to see them leave...it is a shame that they will not be in VS colors, though. But, still better than not existing!

G-VCAT has been delayed til 30th Sep now.

'RUM is all white but I don't know whether 'CAT is still in VS colours.

I had to contact the VS hanger the other day and could not get an answer, so called the hanger foreman's mobile phone. I thought that the ring tone sounded weird and when the guy answered, he was out in the Mojave Desert sorting out those classics, he was no help to me that far away !!.

Had a nice chat for a couple of mins though.
