As much as I like the approach at GUA
it certainly does not make the airport nice. La Aurora Airport in Guatemala its not much more than a nice bus station IMHO. What I really like about it is that it has some nice traffic with some heavies departing every now and then.
(Caracas, Maiquetia) is a nice airport though. Lots of traffic and a cool appoach. Beautiful ladies. Gorgeous.
(Havana). Very functional International terminal with jetways and pretty much everything you could expect from the airports you travel to. Just don't step in Terminal 2 (which is also used as international) or domestic, 'cause the magic is over.
(Santo Domingo). For some strange reason I felt I was at DTW
airport. It is big but gives you the feeling that after construction it has not received a lot of maintenance. The areas are nice, but it got stuck in the late 80's. At Dominicana de Aviacion ramp you can see a nice bunch of partially scrapped 727's, 707 and some propliners.
(Mexico City). I would rate it with a B+ It did not get the A grade because it is very very congested with little or no space to grow at all. Nevertheless the gates and overall public areas are in great condition and look great. It has some of the best places to spot.
(Cancun). I like it and not because it's my home airport (they have invested several million USD). Very friendly services (except in Terminal 1), lots of traffic, nice facilities (although not enough jetways).
I also have the feeling that SCL
is one of the best around.
