Bad Day In Dayton

Tue Sep 30, 2003 9:26 am

USeless Airways express appears to have had a little problem today at DAY that resulted in them turning back to DAY due to an air hose leaking under the cabin. I posted the article from a local news source there

I wonder how many free tickets and lawsuits for respiratory problems this will cost them.

The picture is a little unclear but I think that is a Dornier 328

It's definitely a Do Do 328 turboprop. The horizontal stabilizer is well below the top of the tail and the nose is much more rounded than on a DH-8, the only other high wing turboprop that USAirways Express operates.

Also, since PSA Airlines is based at DAY and still only operates Do328s (they're getting CRJs in October) it's always a good bet.

Up, up and away!

I think that's file footage. The photo depicted, as mentioned, is clearly a Dornier 328. However USAirways Express flight 2803, which experienced the emergency landing, is operated by an ERJ-145. The aircraft is operated by USAirways Express affiliate Mesa Airlines. More information can be found at the Ohio News Network site:

I'm surpised ATC was awake, this airport is so dead it is unreal. But it is bound to happen eventually I guess. I was actually on that flight 2 years ago.
Go big or go home
