Airline With Most 737 Variants

Sat Oct 04, 2003 12:41 am

Hi A.netters. Does anyone know which airline has operated the most variants of the 737? I'm guessing CO (100/200/300/500/700/800/900) but I'm not sure. Thanks!

CO still operates 5 (300,500,700,800,900) so I would guess it holds the record for number currently in operation.

With CO missing only the 734, they prevail as the winner hands down.

KL operates four different 737 types, the -300, -400, -800 and the -900.

Southwest only has four variants, the -200, -300, -500, and -700, and in about 18 months or so, that'll be down to three when the last of the -200s are retired by early 2005.

Looks like Continental wins the prize...

Apart from the NGs, LH at one time was the only carrier to have operated the -100, -200, -300 and the -400 versions of the B737.

*Technically you can also add the 737-700 to LH's list:

You have it backwards.

"Technically", the aircraft is owned and operated by PrivatAir. For all practical purposes to the customer however, it's LH.
