1. Flying. Just being up there, I can say I like it all...although I do have my favorites. I remember flying home from DAB
this summer. I hadn't flown since January & had this uncontrollable smile on my face for the first couple minutes.
2. Takeoff. I love hearing the engines wind up & roar to life, especially on the 757 (the whine!!). I like getting pushed into my seat when they spool the engines on the takeoff roll. About the only part I don't like is on some planes, where you feel like you're being smashed down due to Gs (again, something I associate with the 757). I don't notice it on some planes, others, I do.
3. Flying at dawn or dusk....I love seeing the first/last rays of light & the orange glow of the sky & cabin when you're up there. Saw a cool sunrise MCO
once! I also like seeing the first rays of light on Trans-Atlantic flights.
4. Landing. Seeing everything set for landing, descent, last minute maneuvers to line up with the runway are the big ones with me. I also like seeing traffic landing on other runways. I'll take a little turbulence here, because I know the flight's going to be over in a few minutes & I won't have to deal with it for long.
Turbulence is my least favorite, unless it's light. I hate getting bounced around & winding up queasy for a period of time.
Mikesairways- I remember the same feeling before I joined- welcome!
