Have You Flown UL? If So, What Was It Like?

Wed Oct 08, 2003 11:13 pm

I will be flying aboard UL next month, routing LHR-MLE-CMB-UL / WMKK), Malaysia">KUL-SIN-CMB-LHR. The LHR-MLE-CMB and the CMB-LHR sectors will be aboard the 340; the CMB-UL / WMKK), Malaysia">KUL-SIN and the SIN-CMB legs will be aboard the 330.

I know that some people who frequent Airliners.net, such as Srilankan340, have flown aboard the carrier, but has anyone else here? If you have, what was its service like, in terms of comfort, entertainment, etc.?

According to the firm through which I purchased my ticket (Travelocity.co.uk), no meals will be served on any leg. This does, to me, seem strange, not least because UL is a full-frills airline. Can anyone confirm or rebut this statement?

Thanks for your help,

James.

Since UL belongs partly to EK, the service had improved a lot. The planes are absolutely fine and new (A330) and some people that I know, compare the service to MAS. (malaysia)

I have been in one of their planes for exactly 10 minutes, during a stop in CDG, and I think that the seats have Personal enterntainment systems.
I think that the website has it wrong. Perhaps no meals between MLE and CMB because its a short hop, but from LHR, its sure that you will get something.

Hi Myk.

10 minutes, eh? lol.  Big grin

Someone here said UL's 330s were accurately comparable to EK, so obviously this suggests that they're totally fine. Nevertheless, it's always nice and informative to hear another person's experiences, in order to get a rounded view.
