A Man In A 747 Suit?

Fri Dec 31, 1999 1:15 pm

Here is a sight you don't see everyday. Remember the Patterson Bigfoot film shot in 1967? The famous 8mm footage of a hairy monster walking through a clearing in the woods. You thought that sight was rare. Take a look at this.

So what do you think? Is it real, or is it a man in a 747 suit?

I would ahve to agree, it is real. Mostly because Delta did infact operate the 747-100 for a short time in the 1970s before the arrivial of the L-1011.

I'm pretty sure that picture is real. As DeltaAir said, Delta did operate the 747 for a short period of time. At the National Air and Space museum in Washington D.C., one of the little aviation movies they have there featured a Delta 747. I'm not sure if they still show that film, since I went in the early '90's.

That a/c is definitely real. Delta flew the 741 in the 70's before the 1011 came in. They then retired them.

It's real
Delta was a launch customer of the 747-100
I found this out only a short time ago while watching the video for the new 747 stamp (I think that was it, but if it wasn't it was a video that showed all of the flight attendants smashing the champagne to chrisen (can't spell) the plane)

On the side of the first 747 was all of the airlines that first ordered the plane, and Delta's symbol was right there.
