Connecting In STL After NOV 1.

Hey

I really hate to bring this up, and i couldn't find a topic I could use to post my question so this is why this is up.

I am stating facts, and question I am not saying "you think delta will do this" or "will united add this" etc etc....


My question is, when NOV 1 comes around and AA adds the new schedule, will STL no longer be a connecting airport for AA?? I looked around and could not find any connecting through STL, most were re-routed through ORD and DFW. or otherwise they were continuing flights, like BOS-SNA has a stop in STL, but no connecting and it will be flown by a 737-800. So, also the only connections I could find were the american connection from regional airports but I am reffering to MAINLINE AA to MAINLINE AA. So, am I right to say STL will lose status as a connecting airport or WILL there still be connecting in STL from mainlient o mainline on AA. I know WN will have connecting and Great Plaines as well but thats for BLV.

So thats my questions and please i am not stating opiniuons....etc etc

Well, considering that there will only be about 50 or so mainline flights remaining out of STL after the AA cutback, I would assume that it would be quite hard to find an itinerary that has one connection on mainline aircraft the whole way through. But that doesn't mean STL is no longer an airport used for connections for American. Like you said and through my own research, there are actually quite a few transfer opportunities still available through STL, mostly American Connection connecting onto mainline or other Connection flights and visa versa. So I'd definitely consider STL a connecting airport for American after Nov. 1.

yes but I did say I am not counting american connection flights because we will ALWAYS have that unless the governemtn stops paying for it. all I was asking for is Mainline AA to Mainline AA.

and mentioned above, Southwest still has connections in STL, actually alot of them.

I don't think I follow. Do you mean that the government subsidizes AX out of STL?

I just went on AA.com and put in LAX to LGA for after Nov. 1, and a connection through STL was listed as an option:

AA756 Departs LAX 11/11/2003 11:45 AM, Arrives 05:18 PM B757
AA682 Departs STL 11/11/2003 06:10 PM, Arrives 09:31 PM S80


So yes, AA will still have some connecting options through STL after Nov. 1

He's talking about the few EAS flights AA Conx has out of STL (his hometown of MWA being an example)

You basically answered you're own question. There will be substantially less connections from one mainline flight to another. I don't think they'll be totally wiped out, but there will be very few. All the mainline conx are getting shifted to ORD and DFW as you stated. STL is just going to be a huge RJ hub, similar to what DL is doing at CVG.

FLYCMH-cactusa319 answered for me, so I hope that answered it, and yes MWA my hometown airport is a fine example of one such situation. So can I honestly say that after NOvember 1, whenever I fly out of STL on American, all those people are more likely truly either stating the trip in STL or arriving to stay? and not just connecting through?

Attempting to connect in STL after Nov. 1 on American is strictly prohibited! If you attempt such a connection, you will be arrested upon your arrival at STL and placed on the first available flight to either ORD or DFW - LOL  Smile

Of course, connecting opportunities will still exist. There are ways to bypass DFW and ORD on American. A friend of mine recently flew American TPA-YYZ and connected in LGA, which of course is not an American hub. Provided AA doesn't reduce its STL flight schedule even more after Nov. 1, there will still be some possible connections in STL.

wow, thats cool STL is stilla connection for AA. although they will only connect from Gate to Gate right? since the D is closed after NOV 12 and they will only utilize the C concourse for mainline and regional jet service? the props will still use the B concourse.
