What Happens NOW?

I saw this picture in Editor's choice. I was wondering what happens to the plane in this situation. As you can see the water is not too far away. The chances of plane doing a touch and go seem very inrealistic. Especially since the pilots don't know how much damage was done.

I just wanted to know what would happen to this plane. Would it land safely, or would it end up in the water???

The picture is compressed... Kai Tak's runway was actually much longer than it appears in that scenario.
