BA Back @ CLT?

Mon Oct 13, 2003 7:22 am

I've noticed all week including today that BA229 is flying between CLT-BWI-LHR. I thought my flight tracker must be broke. Then I checked a pretty reliable flight tracker and sure enough it's about to depart. Where was I when this route resumed? I heard nothing. This couldn't still stem from the emergency landing of the ATL bound 777 last week, could it?

tried plugging CLT into BA's system, failed.

Therefore, doesn't appear that they're selling flights to that destination again

Apparently a 777 made an emergency landing @ CLT last weekend after reports of smoke in the cockpit. It turned out to be a lightbulb in first class or something. It left Charlotte on Tuesday. I too show no arrival into Charlotte, but there is a departing flight. Not sure what gives.

B764: Thanks for answering my question about the emergency landing.

Also, I'm confused as to why there would be an equipment change on BA228 in BWI. (listed above)

yeah are you sure all this info is accurate. The CLT-BWI flight is a 763 and then the BWI-LHR flight is a 772. I see that on flytecomm.com under BWI arrivals it lists CLT as a BA arrival, but under CLT arrivals it never shows anything about a BA arrival from BWI. Also the 2 different planes makes me wonder if the BWI-CLT-BWI segment was ever deleted on the flight trackers.

I've found flighttracker.com to be inaccurate quite a few times.

Re diversion on 06th Oct this was Ba2227 LGWATL G-VIIH 777,on which i was a nonrev.Captain advised smoke in cockpit and that he was going to divert into CLT.
Quite interesting after we landed to see all the airport and several air force fire engines clustered round the plane.it took over two hours from the arrival of the plane to getting through immigration and customs, much of it spent sitting in a collection of shuttle buses on the taxiway and tarmac, and also in a windowless corridor outside of immigration
